'The best shark dive in the world' - Ron & Valerie Taylor
On the fringes of Beqa Lagoon in Fiji lies the ‘Shark Reef Marine Reserve’ - the location for the
Shark Photography Field Trip. The famous shark photography pioneers, Ron and Valerie Taylor, have
described this as the ‘best shark dive in the world’, but until recently the location has been a
relative secret known only to a few internationally-renowned photographers.
Diving in this controlled environment, with very experienced shark dive guides,
allows many of the uncertainties that usually beset shark photography to be removed
so that you can concentrate on capturing the best images possible.
This tour enables photographers and videographers of all abilities to experience this incredible
underwater spectacle in an environment where the sharks are always present allowing you to
concentrate on developing your skills and capturing amazing images and video.
After the dives, workshops and presentations on a range of techniques will be organised to analyse
and perfect skills in a relaxed environment prior to practicing them on the following day’s dives.
So whether you are an experienced pro, or just beginning with a digital compact camera,
we guarantee that your photographic skills will improve beyond all recognition and you will
return with some images to be very proud of.
Shark species expected: bull, tawny nurse, sickle-fin lemon, silvertip, whitetip reef, blacktip reef, grey reef, and the occasional tiger shark.
Other species: Queensland groupers, large schools of giant trevally and red snapper and 300 species of reef fish.
Programme:
- 2 shark dives each morning (10 days)
